Molteni&C Dada Flagship Store 6 rue des Saints Pères, Paris T +33 1 42602942 info@moltenidada.fr Paris promises a vibrant design scene for the first week in September. The Molteni&C Dada Flagship Store in Rue des Saintes-Pères is having a make-over inspired by Gio Ponti’s Casa Adatta theme. “It is not up to us to adapt to just any sort of house, instead it is the house that must adapt to us, providing an expression of modern life and culture through architecture’s exteriors and interiors”, wrote Gio Ponti in his manifesto in 1970. Hence a new concept home with furnishings and fittings designed to create more interior space, all easily movable, with castors, light and flexible, elements with minimum overall dimensions that can be mixed and matched. Designer furniture that the manufacturer can distribute at affordable prices. Such as the D.270.1 and D.270.2 folding seat and armchair, which today Molteni&C has re-made in partnership with the Gio Ponti Archives, in new finishes and wood veneers: natural or black ash, with textile, leather and rattan backrest and seat, also available in the “Poesia del mare” fabric designed by Gio Ponti in 1970. Also heading for Paris are products designed by Ron Gilad, Rodolfo Dordoni, Patricia Urquiola, Dante Bonuccelli and Studio Hannes Wettstein, just to mention a few, such as Dante Bonuccelli’s Pass-Word. Cuttingedge technology and refined design for a system devoted to the living area, featuring cupboards, consoles and shelves intended for total design freedom, dedicated to storage and to home entertainment to house even the most modern multimedia systems. Elegant new internal finishes made of warm, scented cedarwood, set alongside all the colors of the lacquered finishes. The partnership with ABC Italia also takes Gio Ponti to Maison&Objet, from 5 to 9 September. In pavilion 7 - stand G139, certain pieces of the Molteni&C collection, such as the D.153.1 armchair and the D.555.1 small table, grace the ABC Italia exhibition space, which offers an absolute preview of new rugs from the Gio Ponti Collection, in cooperation with the great maestro’s Archives. Masterpieces hand knotted by expert weavers, also the “Incroci” carpet, on display in the window of Molteni&C Dada’s Parisian Flagship Store. The D.270.2 armchair, designed by Gio Ponti and re-made by Molteni&C, also features large in the Café Intramuros in pavilion 8 of M&O/Now!design à vivre, where the French store is setting up its “Géométrie Variable” exhibition.
