The Corteccia rug by Marta Ferri balances surface depth and material variation in a tactile interpretation of natural textures. Its design is inspired by the bark of ancient trees, with a striking three-dimensional texture comprising irregular reliefs with varied yarn heights for a tactile finish that changes under light and movement.

The composition is articulated through a veining pattern that runs across the weave, recalling the natural splits and stratifications of bark and wood. These structural lines emerge from the interplay of different yarn heights and densities. The surface thus feels carved rather than drawn, with an elegant texture underfoot.

Corteccia is knotted using a blend of bamboo silk, wool, and cotton. The combination of fibers allows for contrast between matte and luminous areas, enhancing the rug’s depth and tactile complexity. Bamboo silk introduces a soft sheen, while wool and cotton provide body and resilience, ensuring durability alongside comfort.

Designed to occupy space with texture rather than color, Corteccia integrates naturally into contemporary interiors. It is a rug that brings weight, warmth, and a sense of grounded tactility to the room.
