The Holistic Home
Living is once again central to every corner of the home. A theater of life experienced, where the quality of the home environment is the key premise for planning the various rooms: increasingly more versatile, multifunctional, able to adapt and mould itself to a second usage.
Among the Molteni&C indoor sofas, the true protagonists of the living room, Augusto, designed by Vincent van Duysen, stands out. Designed with a timeless aesthetic, following the idea of total comfort, and achieved by meticulously examining the ergonomics of the body regarding the seats and armrests.
Another creation by Vincent van Duysen is Cleo, a modular inside furniture system created by combining various rectilinear, corner or island elements to create a vast number of compositions suitable for all types of living.
Marteen is a multifunctional seating and storage system, also signed by the Belgian architect and designer, which proposes a harmony of perfectly balanced volumes in an alternation of solids and voids.
From the innovative style of Yabu Pushelberg comes Surf, a modular indoor furniture system that is not only ergonomically perfect thanks to the use of differentiated polyurethane foams, but also visually appealing, capable of creating compositions to suit any space.
From the encounter between the Japanese and Italian worlds come the creations of designer Naoto Fukasawa. Cinnamon is an armchair with harmonious shapes that strikes the perfect balance between function and comfort. The soft, enveloping structure is characterized by a cylindrical line. It exudes an air of warmth and tranquility, inviting immersive and relaxing seating. The Tuscany chaise longue embodies the ultimate idea of comfort with its unique design. It reinterprets the unmistakable views of the Italian landscape while following the natural shape of the body.
Timeless design and contemporary taste come together in the D.151.4 armchair, originally designed by Gio Ponti and now part of the Molteni&C Heritage Collection. Its half-shell frame is enveloping and features comfortable armrests and solid wood feet with a brass ferrule.
Vincent Van Duysen's attention to detail and proportion can be found in Paula, which rightfully ranks among the icons of contemporary seating, with its perfect synthesis between the soft seat and the solid, sturdy structure of the base.
Porta Volta, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, stands out among Molteni&C's wide range of indoor seating with a striking result. The key design element is the solid wood backrest, which, with its U-shape, gives an enveloping effect while shaping the armrests. Vincent van Duysen brings to life an integrated seat and back system with the Janet indoor furniture chair, characterized by clean, essential lines in solid wood. This design develops seamlessly, offering exceptional comfort.
In the panorama of Molteni&C inside furniture, we find a wide collection of coffee tables. Aster by Vincent Van Duysen is a unique object, made entirely by hand. The base features a brass casting made with an earthen mold that gives it the sophisticated hammered effect, while the top consists of an annealed glass.
Vincent van Duysen's Regent side tables come in various shapes and sizes, from low, oval versions to taller round ones, always presenting a top supported by the ring base and slender legs.
With Panna Cotta, at once delicate and heavy, Ron Gilad brings to life the paradox of using materials such as marble and iron. The slight vibration that characterizes the top of the indoor furniture is reminiscent of that of the typical spoon dessert for which it is named.
Louisa is a series of round or oval coffee tables in which the presence of wood and concrete gives an innovative aesthetic thrust. In Vincent van Duysen's design, the supporting structure, a tapered central pillar, rises from the ground and fuses into a slightly hollowed top.
Some fundamental elements of Molteni&C inside furniture consist of tables in an array of contemporary designs. Among which, Old Ford stands out: a new proposal by Rodolfo Dordoni that is extremely customizable. It consists of a top with rounded edges that gently curve downward to meet four polished legs, connected by an H-shaped frame.
Vincent van Duysen's ability to create objects of incomparable character, yet refined aesthetics, clearly emerges in Mateo. Available in various sizes and configurations, the table rests on a rounded base slightly flared downward, designed to provide stability.
The Blevio table, designed by Ignazio Gardella and belonging to the Molteni&C Heritage Collection, was born from a process of subtracting the superfluous. It has a table-top in the shape of an elongated rectangle, concluded at the ends by two semicircles and supported by two hollow cylindrical section elements.
Also in the Heritage Collection of indoor furniture we find the D.847.1 console table, a faithful reproduction of Gio Ponti's original design, born of Molteni&C's collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives. The desk, in solid wood, is distinguished by a top with curved terminals, resembling an airplane wing, and a small drawer below with a rounded front.
Among the most elegant design sideboards in the Indoor Molteni&C collection is Living Box, designed by Vincent van Duysen. It is a rectangular, low, large container with no doors, in which the exterior and interior are contrasted through the use of different materials.
Nicola Gallizia signs 505 UP Sideboard, the natural evolution of 505 UP, in a path of interpretation of the needs of contemporary living. It is a low display cabinet with a thousand faces that can respond to a wide variety of configurations and uses.
505 UP System is the evolution of 500 UP, which has always been a classic in the field of modular systems for the living area by Molteni&C. In Nicola Gallizia's design, 505 UP System moves further away from the classic function of a bookcase, increasingly configuring itself as a contemporary indoor furniture element. This becomes possible above all thanks to the introduction of Display: a new protruding cabinet that allows the grid of horizontal and vertical shelves to be moved with maximum compositional and stylistic versatility.
