For the 2018 Salone del Mobile.Milano, the Molteni&C stand, an innovative concept symbolising Italian flair, represents the typical Italian villa, designed by Vincent Van Duysen and enriched with a collection of works by contemporary artists. Selected by the curator Caroline Corbetta, internationally acknowledged for her talent scouting skills, this ideal collection helps to create an ecosystem that combines imagination and design, style and personality.

The works of Gabriele De Santis (1983), Marco Giordano (1988), Jacopo Miliani(1979), Alek O. (1981) and Santo Tolone (1979) – young talents with international experience already in their CVs and all represented by the Frutta Gallery, founded in Rome by Scotsman James Gardner in 2013 .- are showcased alongside great design classics from various decades, such as a Gio Ponti armchair or a Jean Nouvel table, but also hitherto unexhibited pieces making their debut on the market, such as the chair by young designer Francesco Meda.
The result is total aesthetic and cultural harmony. Art and design, interwoven, create a home that is at once an intimate refuge and a social space.

Caroline Corbetta

Caroline Corbetta

Caroline Corbetta, an obstinately freelance curator, has two obsessions: popularising contemporary art among the general public and scouting for up-and-coming talents. With her roving and inclusive gaze, she moves confidently from the art direction of an institutional pavilion such as Expo Gate, for Expo Milano 2015, to that of IL CREPACCIO, a Milanese showcase for young artists now transferred to Instagram. As well as curating exhibitions and public projects for international companies and institutions such as Stockholm’s Moderna Museet and New York’s Performa, she also writes for magazines of the calibre of Vogue Italia and Domus.
