On the occasion of Milan Design Week and the special SuperSalone event, Molteni&C and Salvatore Ferragamo renew their collaboration and present an installation dedicated to the Molteni&C Heritage Collection in the Salvatore Ferragamo Donna and Uomo boutiques in Via Montenapoleone.
In the windows of the two boutiques, Gio Ponti's Round D.154.5 armchair, reissued by Molteni&C more than 60 years after the original idea, is dressed in an exclusive Salvatore Ferragamo fabric, made entirely of natural fibres.
Round D.154.5 is the absolute icon of the 2021 Collection by Molteni&C. Careful study of drawings, photos and period materials, in collaboration with the Ponti Archives, has made it possible to faithfully reproduce a precious object.

Round D.154.5 is also referred to as‘Otto Pezzi’ (Eight Pieces). In fact, there are eight pieces that make up the chair.
A product that has already been thought with a view to sustainability for industry, where we are talking about assembly, ease of production, but also packaging, with the solution of reducing bulk and transport to a minimum.

In line with the company’s policy of containing and rationalising energy consumption, three company sites, Turate, Verano Brianza and the Upholstered Division in Giussano, have been equipped with photovoltaic systems positioned on their roofs.
Heritage Collection
Together with Round D.154.5, the windows of the two Salvatore Ferragamo boutiques are adorned with Aldo Rossi's iconic Carteggio secretaire, Gio Ponti's D.847.1 desk, Yasuhiko Itoh's MHC.2 bookcase and Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda's Piroscafo bookcase, a project that turns 30 this year and is presented for the occasion in a special colour from the Salvatore Ferragamo collection.
