In a landmark tower conceived by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel and interior architect Thierry Despont, adjacent to The Museum of Modern Art, architecture and art merge together in a private residence, appointed by Molteni&C designs.

Despont’s interior vision, rooted in a palette of oak, marble, and bronze, is elevated by Molteni&C’s bespoke craftsmanship. The kitchen is defined by white marble countertops and backlit backsplashes, paired with back-painted glass doors framed in aluminum — a material dialogue that echoes the tower’s crystalline geometry and ever-shifting reflections.

Within the residence, design pieces from the Molteni&C Collection further articulate the space. The Skin sofa and armchairs by Jean Nouvel float with sculptural presence in the living area, offering a dynamic interplay of structure and suspension. Crafted in self-supporting hide leather, their form recalls Nouvel’s architectural language from the Musée du Quai Branly, transformed here into a poetic object of rest.

A composition from the Pass-word system by Dante Bonuccelli enriches the TV area, balancing solid volumes with open voids to encourage expressive freedom and modularity. Teorema by Ron Gilad, featured in the entryway and bedrooms, continues the theme of micro-architecture — celebrating asymmetry, rhythm, and fine joinery in an American walnut finish.

Through this partnership with Plainspace Architecture and Design DPC and Jean Nouvel, Molteni&C continues to affirm its role as a creator of crafted environments where architecture, interior design, and quality living converge.
