The Physis kitchen brings Vincent Van Duysen’s organic sensibility to the heart of the home with a soft, contemporary architectural language. Conceived as a coherent system, Physis is defined by rounded corners and fluid transitions that lend the composition a welcoming, tactile appeal.

The formal identity of Physis is expressed through gently curved edges and sides, refined by a distinctive half-bullnose profile that enhances the worktop’s sculptural quality. Meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout, from the perfectly integrated recessed handle to the softly contoured sink and snack counter.

The thickness of the worktop is accentuated by a discreet metal insert that follows the continuity of the curved lines, reinforcing the sense of material continuity and visual softness. Open compartments and glass-fronted doors introduce transparency and lightness, creating a dialogue between solidity and openness that enhances spatial fluidity.

A defining feature of the project is the impeccable stylistic coherence shared by base units, wall units, tall units, and the hood, all conceived according to the same constructional and aesthetic logic. Warm LED lighting, seamlessly integrated into the system, highlights the richness of materials, revealing Molteni&C’s craftsmanship expertise.

Available in a wide range of configurations, Physis adapts effortlessly to diverse spaces and lifestyles, offering a timeless kitchen concept that blends organic form, technical precision, and contemporary elegance in perfect balance.

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
