living systems and bookshelves

Modularity, functionality, and lightness are what inspired Molteni&C's first fully modular living room wall unit system. Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, Logos offers a fresh approach to how space can be designed, offering endless configurations to suit individual tastes and functional needs. The storage module is fully customizable, offering options such as open compartments, doors, or drawers of varying heights, adding both practicality and aesthetic appeal.

The beauty of Logos comes from a sophisticated mix of wood, lacquer, glass, and metal finishes, complemented by optional customization including bronze mirrors, fabrics from the Blend collection, and warm 2700‑lumen LED top lighting.

The system extends its compositional flexibility through elements that allow it to be positioned both on the wall and directly on the floor, where an easel‑like support introduces a lighter, more suspended presence. Vertical development reaches up to 125 cm, while a standalone bookshelf in wood veneer — with chamfered edges and molded methacrylate uprights incorporating integrated LED lighting — adds a freestanding architectural accent. In symmetrical compositions, the inclusion of the bookshelf allows the system to be completed with a stone boiserie from the Molteni&C collection, reinforcing material depth and spatial definition.

Whether placed on the ground, mounted on the wall, or suspended with a trestle base in metal finishes, Logos is available in a variety of moduels. There is also the option to select a metallic frame that encircles the upper shelf, adding a refined touch to the design with a change in texture. The upper drawer discreetly conceals cables, devices, or multimedia accessories, adding both practicality and aesthetic appeal.

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
