Originally conceived for the Molteni&C Outdoor Collection, the Regent table by Vincent Van Duysen is also featured in this indoor version, creating a continuation of the elegant dialog between exterior and interior spaces. ( Product Care )
Metal
In order to maintain the aesthetic characteristics of these finishes over time and avoid rust, regular, methodical and meticulous cleaning is necessary. For everyday maintenance, dust with a soft dry cloth. For greasy oily marks (fingerprints) we advise cleaning the surfaces with normal liquid detergents for glass. Products containing solvents and/or alcohol and hard fibre cloths (linen and synthetics) should be avoided, as they could ruin and/or scratch surfaces. Require monthly maintenance with specific metal cleaning/polishing products.
Marble
As normal maintenance, dust and dry residues, use a soft cloth. For stubborn dry dirt (dust which has penetrated into the porosity) it is advisable to use a close-knitted or a spongy cloth, slightly dampened with warm water and well wrung out. Clean by following the vein of the surface without applying too much pressure. As for both greasy and oily marks (fingerprints) it is recommended to treat the surfaces with a small sponge dampened with water and washing-up liquid. Afterwards go over the surfaces once again as described above. Products which contain solvents and/or methylated spirits as well as cloths with rigid fibres (linen and synthetic fibres) are to be avoided as these may ruin the varnish. Given the kind of treatment it is important to immediately remove stains following the above described procedures.
Lava stone
Enamelled lava stone, surfaces designed by volcanic fire. Cleaning should be done preferably under cloudy skies or in the shade. Ensure that the furniture is cool before starting. Do not use abrasive sponges, steel brushes, or abrasive/caustic cleansers. Do not use steam cleaners or pressure washers. Always try to remove food residue or spilled drinks, fallen leaves, berries, flowers, and bird droppings as soon as possible to prevent stains and mould. Do not place hot objects such as kettles or pans directly on the stone surface, since this could result in stains or changes to the surface that cannot be removed or repaired.
( Designer )
Belgian architect and interior designer Vincent Van Duysen has cultivated an intrinsic dialogue between architecture, interiors, and product design, creating seamless transitions between disciplines. His work is defined by a refined pursuit of essence, materiality, and timelessness. Since 2016, he has served as Creative Director of Molteni&C.
( Description )
Vincent Van Duysen designed the Regent coffee tables with three top shapes: round, oval and square. The size of the tops is inversely proportional to the height of the coffee tables, allowing them to fit into each other, creating islands of elements side by side. The round one is also designed to be placed above the sofas in the two collections, providing a useful shelf.

The rounded shape of the tops, which have no edges, and the theme of the metal band, here in a vertical rather than horizontal position, cite both the compositional fil rouge of the Timeout Collection and the organicity of the lines underlying the Landmark Collection. A common and distinctive element of the Regent series is the ring-shaped base. With its slender, minimalist profile, it is made up of two burnished painted aluminium frames: one supporting the top and one at the base, which incorporates, with a refined slotted movement, the two vertical support rods. The base is the result of a profound and careful attention to detail, to the mechanisms for joining the elements and to a precise study of proportions.

Similarly, the chromatic and material recurrence of the burnished metal and the top in Etna lava stone, give the Regent coffee tables a sense of continuity between the two collections. The vitreous inserts of the Etna lava stone, used for the oven-baked enamelling of the surfaces, come from the crushing of recycled glass from TV and PC monitors.
