Gio Ponti's stunning conference table completely transforms the concept of meeting spaces through its simple and sleek design. An impressive 2.8 meters long, it retains a minimalist profile with two rounded edges and two flat edges. The generous size was made to include ten people, though it is also possible to customize it for a more intimate setting.

( Product Care )
Wood
For everyday maintenance dust with a soft dry cloth. For greasy, oily marks (fingerprints) we advise cleaning the surface with alcohol diluted in water, drying immediately with a soft cloth. Products containing acetone, bleach and solvents should be avoided, as should abrasive products, furniture wax and hard fibre cloths (linen and synthetics) which could ruin and/or scratch surfaces. All these operations should be carried out with great care, avoiding heavy pressure. Exposure to direct sunlight can alter the paint or wood colour. For gloss finishes, continued maintenance in time may cause scratching and a reduction in the shiny effect.

Gio Ponti’s D.859.1 table, designed in 1959 for the auditorium of the Time&Life Building in New York, provides a distinctive balance of grandeur and simplicity designed to host intimate gatherings while making a striking architectural statement. Generous in length, exceeding 3.6 meters, this table captures a sense of movement, its tapered top and slender legs reminiscent of a sleek aerodynamic form.

Crafted originally in solid ash with bronze ferrules, the table celebrates the natural warmth and texture of wood, now also offered in further sophisticated finishes. Its slender-legged trapezoidal base supports the expansive surface with a lightness that belies its impressive scale, combining strength with elegance.

D.859.1 TABLE GIO PONTI
The D.859.1 table, designed primarily as a meeting table for up to ten people, stands out not only for its impressive size—over 3,60 meters long—but especially for its simple yet refined design.
The legs are notable for their fine-membered modernity, creating a trapezoidal single-span bridge upon which the large tapered top conveys the idea of aerodynamics. Originally made of solid ash with bronze ferrules, it is now also available in a darker-toned wood such as Black Stained Ash. In addition to its original dimensions, the D.859.1 is available in two smaller version that faithfully reproduce the harmony and proportions of the original design.
Four distinct themes are interwoven in this building: the synthesis of the arts; the interplay of magnitudes in the juxtaposition of a small, almost homey space with the colossal bulk of the skyscraper; the representational and communicative function of the architecture and design; and lastly, the bond with advertising and the capital.
