Gio Ponti’s Bucchero presents an elegant reimagining of Etruscan tradition, weaving ancient artistry into the fabric of modern interiors. Reflecting on the past to gain a deeper understanding of its relevance in the present is a common thread throughout Ponti’s work. In collaboration with Buccheri Antonio Rossi, this piece breathes new life into a time-honored craft, resulting in a striking sculptural form.

Bucchero is an ancient Etruscan ceramic art from the 7th century a.C. distinguished by a specialized firing technique. The clay is fired at extremely high temperatures and air-dried in a reduced-oxygen environment, producing the deep black finish that defines the tradition.
One of the original forms by Ponti is revived in this re-edition, contributing to both contemporary design and the preservation of an invaluable cultural heritage.
