tables

The Timeout Collection dining table interprets the archetype of outdoor tables with a slatted top for water drainage. Seating 6 or 8, it stands out for its carefully calibrated proportions and choice of materials that allow it to match both of Molteni&C's new outdoor collections.

The structure takes up the motif of the burnished aluminium band, with its rounded profile and without corners. As in the entire Timeout Collection, the support bases are sled-shaped, created by the continuous movement of the same metal band and here positioned flush with the top as a natural continuation of it.

The top is available in two versions: in solid teak slats or in slabs of lava stone in the three colours - anthracite, olive green and desert yellow - with a slightly rough surface that evokes its lithic nature. The vitreous inserts of the Etna lava stone, used for the oven-baked enamelling of the surfaces, come from the crushing of recycled glass from TV and PC monitors.

Design

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
