A multipurpose element with an accentuated horizontal nature, the bench lends itself well to the freedom of use and mobility inherent in outdoor furniture.

Design Vincent Van Duysen

Among the Timeout Collection, it is the element that most explicitly expresses the contrast between the minimalist and contemporary aesthetics of the structure, formed by the continuous running of the burnished painted aluminium band, and the more traditional motif of the upholstery, created with a handmade weave of polypropylene rope.

In the bench, the rounded profile of the band at the horizontal crosspiece is also particularly noteworthy. This detail is designed to maximise seating comfort, but also to enhance the image of softness and lightness of the metal structure. The Golden Gate bench is available in three variants: anthracite, olive green and desert yellow. In addition to the bench, the range includes a large array of products, such as the sofa, the dining table with seats, the stool, the comfortable sunbed and side tables.

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
