Design Vincent Van Duysen

Paul New Eco is a set of elegantly proportioned sofas that embody Vincent Van Duysen’s expressive rationality, now taking a significant leap towards environmental responsibility with the introduction of the recycled and biodegradable polyester fiber, Primaloft Bio.

This updated project includes linear sofas, angular compositions, chaise longues, and islands, all characterized by a single seat cushion and a eco-friendly and sustainable design. Imagined exclusively for the Paul sofa system, New Eco is designed to return to nature, offering a holistic solution for product wear and eventual end of life.

The Paul New Eco series is further elevated by the inclusion of the Reflect textile, a collaborative creation with Kvadrat, skillfully designed by Patricia Urquiola. With its refined diagonal pattern and a palette of 23 colors derived from 100% recycled PET bottles, Reflect exemplifies our dedication to sustainability without compromising on style or quality. Moreover, the manufacturing process of this fabric minimizes energy consumption, chemical usage, and CO2 emissions, setting a new standard for environmentally conscious design.

Paul New Eco features generous dimensions, distinctive double seams, and exceptional comfort, elements that create harmony even when placed in the center of the room. The impression is lightweight, accentuated by the neat design of the pressure die-cast aluminum feet.

Fabrics used in the upholstery production do not contain azoic colorants production, ensuring a responsible choice for well-being and the environment. Available in two depths, 100cm and 120cm, each element is meticulously crafted to ensure comfortable seating that exudes a welcoming and sophisticated ambiance in any environment.

Paul features generous dimensions, distinctive double seams and great comfort, elements that look good, even in the center of the room. The impression is lightweight, accentuated by the neat design of the pressure die-cast aluminum feet. Items featuring considerable depth complete the project, for a comfortable, luxurious and cosy way of sitting.

Design

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
