( Single units )
The Carteggio single unit by Aldo Rossi is defined by its tall, ordered structure embodying the designer’s fascination with memory, ritual, and the poetry of daily gestures. An elegant addition to the office or living space, this unique piece in solid wood is crafted for practical function in everyday living.
Designed for documents and treasured objects, Carteggio is composed of nine vertically aligned drawers of varying proportions, a closed compartment with double doors, and an upper space for consulting papers. This discreet work area expands through a pull-out shelf and can be concealed by a rolling top, offering a refined solution for both display and discretion.
Every detail speaks to Rossi’s vision and Molteni&C’s mastery of craft. The drawers, doors, and roll top are fitted with spherical wooden handles, a simple yet sculptural gesture, while the first drawer bears a delicate mignon lock — a subtle marker of intimacy and privacy. Such details transform function into ritual, making Carteggio not only a container but also a keeper of personal narratives.
