      MEET FRANCESCO MEDA

      Francesco Meda

      MY FOCUS IS ON ACHIEVING “AIRY” SECTIONS TO REDUCE THE MATERIAL USED TO A MINIMUM, NOT WASTING WOOD, WHICH IS SUCH A PRECIOUS MATERIAL.

      Francesco Meda was born in Milan in 1984. He graduated from Milan’s Istituto Europeo of Design in 2006, having specialized in Industrial Design. The designer gained experience in London working at both Sebastian Bergne’s and Ross Lovegrove's studios. Since returning to Milan in 2009, Meda has pursued his own art and design projects with Nilufar Gallery, Hong Kong’s Schoeni Art Gallery, Henraux, Luce di Carrara, Rossana Orlandi Gallery, and Mint Gallery in London. His “Orme Cinesi” collection was exhibited in Hong Kong at the Lane Crawford store, and was presented by Schoeni Art Gallery during the 2012/2013 Hong Kong Art Fair.

      In 2013 he co-designed "Flap", an acoustic panel produced by Caimi Brevetti, which won the "Compasso d'Oro" award. In the same year, he began is own production of LED lamps, marble tables, benches, and 3D printed jewelry. The Bridge lamps and 3D jewelry series are part of the Triennale Design Museum collection.
