Outside/Inside aims to explore the cultural dialogue between East and West through significant works of modern and contemporary design, blending cultures, creative talent, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology.

Teorema, a sculptural storage unit designed by Ron Gilad, is on exhibition at the womenswear boutique. With it, the armchair D.156.3 by Gio Ponti; the bookcase MHC.2 by Yashuhiko Itoh; and the chest of drawers MHC.1 by Werner Blaser – all one-of-a-kind pieces once made for special projects and today put forward again by Molteni&C as part of an exclusive collection, produced in limited, numbered editions. Yashuhiko Itoh and Ron Gilad are also shown in the menswear boutique, beside another Gio Ponti classic, the armchair D.151.4.

On display in the menswear and womenswear boutiques, the Silkroad Collection designed by Alan Chan.
“Inspired by 17th century European love chairs,” explains Alan Chan, “the idea of binary oppositions illustrates my creation further. Opposite yet complementary like yin and yang, masculinity and femininity, the exquisite silhouette of dark walnut wood furniture is inspired by Kyoto bamboo forest, creating harmony and a tranquil atmosphere.”

Salvatore Ferragamo was fascinated by architecture and design, with many of his original styles drawing inspiration from them. Many of his creations are considered masterpieces of design themselves, and easily associated with furniture design, domestic objects and contemporary architecture, like the shape of the famous Chrysler building in New York.
