JEANNE COFFEE TABLES CHRISTOPHE DELCOURT

      ( Coffee tables )

      JEANNE

The Jeanne coffee table by Christophe Delcourt is designed as a system of connections, where base and tops are resolved as interdependent elements rather than separate parts. The piece is organized around a central fulcrum structure that supports and joins two overlapping planes, giving the table a clear architectural order and a strong sense of balance.

The composition is defined by the relationship between its components. Two shaped tops, characterized by asymmetric edges, are set at different heights and connected through a thin metal sheet that introduces a discreet separation. This metal layer creates a visual pause between the planes, allowing light to pass through and emphasizing the structure’s depth without adding weight.

The base acts as a junction point, anchoring the table and coordinating the interaction between the elements above. Solid wood legs intersect with precision, providing stability while maintaining a light footprint. The upper top is available in a range of finishes, reinforcing the layered construction through material contrast.

Available in multiple sizes and shapes, including round, square, rectangular, and trapezoidal, Jeanne adapts to different spatial configurations. Designed to accompany the Edmond sofa system, it also functions independently, offering a coffee table construction with a clear, legible form.

For me, a table is never just a simple combination of a top and a base. Everything is a connection, an intrinsic link. With the Jeanne coffee table designed for Molteni&C, I wanted to illustrate how these two components come together, intertwine and, together, form a coherent and integrated piece of furniture.

Furniture is first and foremost an element of seduction. We maintain a daily relationship with it, it participates in our environment in the same way as architecture or a piece of art.
