The Ava dining table by Foster + Partners combines the warmth of natural wood with distinctive architectural design precision. Evolving from the studio’s earlier work on modular metal furniture for UniFor Elements series, Ava reinterprets those principles through timber, creating a piece that is environmentally sensitive and visually dynamic. Designed to harmonize with both domestic and commercial interiors, it is a table that unites sustainability with timeless elegance.

Crafted entirely from timber, Ava embraces the tactile beauty of wood while showcasing a mastery of minimal detailing. Its bridge-inspired form, influenced by the lightness of aircraft wings and engineered structures, conveys both strength and grace. The sculpted legs taper delicately towards the floor, while the smooth, continuous surface celebrates the material’s natural richness and refined finish.

Ava’s modular construction offers remarkable flexibility. A central tabletop and cantilevered ends combine seamlessly to create tables of varying lengths. A subtle shadow gap defines the joint, a nod to architectural detailing that elevates its understated geometry. Despite its visual lightness, the structure maintains remarkable stability, allowing the ends to cantilever up to one meter out with effortless poise.
