ARMAND ARMCHAIRS CHRISTOPHE DELCOURT

      ( Armchairs )

      ARMAND

A design by Christophe Delcourt, the Armand armchair defined by a precise balance between fine upholstery, a solid structure, and expert craftsmanship. Its form is built around a thin metal shell that wraps the backrest and extends to embrace the chair as a whole, giving the piece a contained profile with a clear construction.

The shell is covered in regenerated leather and folds gently at the top to form the armrests, creating a continuous surface that supports the body without interruption. This outer structure incorporates and conceals the rear legs, allowing the armchair to read as a single, cohesive volume rather than a collection of parts. Inside, the seat is padded and upholstered to provide comfort while maintaining a structured outline.

The legs are shaped as half‑cylinders, introducing a strong architectural detail at the point where the chair meets the floor. Their geometry adds rhythm and stability to the composition, contrasting with the smooth curvature of the upper shell.

Armand expresses a rigorous approach to construction and material use. Every element contributes to the overall clarity of the design, resulting in an armchair that is compact, sculptural, and structurally coherent.

      MOLTENI MIND

Christophe Delcourt is a self-taught French furniture designer who has collaborated with Molteni&C since 2025.

Furniture is first and foremost an element of seduction. We maintain a daily relationship with it, it participates in our environment in the same way as architecture or a piece of art.
