The backrest introduces a warm material counterpoint through vertical slats in marine plywood, a recycled, resilient wood chosen for its elasticity and natural tactility. The EVA coating enriches the surface with a smooth, subtle softness, elevating the chair’s sensory character.

Seat and back cushions enhance this feeling of serene elegance: a supportive polyurethane insert wrapped in water‑repellent, fully recyclable fibers pairs with a gently yielding polyester‑fiber back cushion. Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen naît en 1962 à Lokeren, en Belgique et se diplôme à l'Académie d'architecture Saint-Luc de Gand. De 1986 à 1989 il travaille à Milan et à Bruxelles ; puis en 1990, il ouvre son agence à Anvers où il se concentre sur le rapport profond entre architecture et décoration intérieure. Dans ses travaux, en effet, les meubles et les compléments d'ameublement sont pensés dans une perspective architecturale qui ne se limite pas à la forme mais s'exprime dans une perception attentive de l'espace intérieur et de son rapport avec l'architecture extérieure. Van Duysen interprète l'architecture et en redéfinit les dimensions, il crée ainsi des objets d'une pureté extrême et essentielle qui conservent toutefois un caractère concret et une solidité des formes de base.
