FIRESIDE LIVING: AUGUSTO

AUGUSTO SOFAS VINCENT VAN DUYSEN FONTE COFFEE TABLES VINCENT VAN DUYSEN CONTINUUM D.163.7 ARMCHAIRS GIO PONTI

Gathered around the fireplace, the living room becomes the inviting center of the home. Beneath a coffered timber ceiling, generous seating from the Augusto sofa by Vincent Van Duysen and full-height glazing compose a space of refined conviviality.

The curved profile of the Augusto sofa draws the room into conversation, its enveloping geometry answered by the Fonte coffee tables, whose stone tops rest on sculptural wood bases.

Rising the full height of the room, a fireplace clad in richly veined marble anchors the composition, its graphic surface set against a palette of warm neutrals — soft upholstery, a textured rug, pale walls washed in natural light. Architecture and furniture speak the same language here: measured proportions, tactile materials, and an ease that invites the day to slow down.

CONTINUUM D.163.7
CONTINUUM D.163.7

Designed by Gio Ponti in 1963, Continuum draws inspiration from bergères created in the early 1950s for hotels and cruise ships. Crafted entirely in Italy, the armchair utilizes first-class materials from the rattan family: manao and malacca sourced from the equatorial forests of Indonesia. Each piece demands over 200 hours of meticulous craftsmanship.
