The D.655.1 D.655.2 drawer unit by Gio Ponti exemplifies the architect’s mastery of refined form and material harmony. Reinterpreted from original archival drawings created between 1952 and 1955 and realized under the art direction of Studio Cerri & Associati, this piece celebrates craftsmanship through its delicate interplay of hand-painted white drawer fronts and rich wood accents.

Each drawer features applied handles crafted from a curated selection of elm, Italian walnut, mahogany, and rosewood, offering contrast and depth that enhances the piece’s visual warmth. The elmwood frame rests gracefully on satin brass feet, lending the chest a poised lightness.
