"Mine is documentary photography, and ranges from super tight details to the widest urban views”
Delfino Sisto Legnani
After graduating in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, Delfino Sisto Legnani began working as an assistant for the photographer Ramak Fazel and as a freelance photographer for publications including Domus, Elle Decor, Vogue, Icon, Wallpaper, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, the Wall Street Journal and Le Monde.
In 2014 Legnani founded DSL Studio, and was joined in 2016 by Melania Dalle Grave, Alessandro Saletta, Agnese Bedini and Piercarlo Quecchia. The photographic studio collaborates with architectural firms, artists, institutions and brands, including OMA, Aires Mateus, Thomas Demand, Fondazione Prada, Flos and MAXXI. Recently the studio worked with UniFor on a photo shoot for the company’s new showroom designed by Herzog & de Meuron on Viale Pasubio in Milan.
Thanks to his degree in architecture, Legnani’s vision is simultaneously scientific and philosophical: a design approach to the photographic lens that has allowed him to become an international reference for architecture and design. Fluctuating between reportage, architectural photography and still life, his work has been exhibited widely, including at the Venice Biennale, the Triennale Milano and London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and Design Museum. In 2021, he also founded NM3 with Nicolò Ornaghi and Francesco Zorzi, a design studio with a strong focus on raw materials and geometric rigour.
